2018/19 POTY 4 – “Macro”: PDI
February 6 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
POTY 4 – “Macro”: PDI: 4th round of POTY comp. PDI competition usual rules and peer voting.
Macro photography, is extreme close-up photography, usually of very small subjects and living organisms like insects, in which the size of the subject on the sensor is greater than life size not the size of the object in the photo which means you can’t take an image and crop it significantly to make the subject larger. However as we all have different cameras with different sensor sizes I will not be able to accurately say if you achieve 1 to 1 size so will accept extreme close up.
To achieve this you usually have to use either a dedicated Macro lens, extension tubes or a reversing ring that allows you to attach another lens in reverse orientation
The biggest issue with Macro photography is the depth of Field as this is generally quite narrow even at the smallest apertures.
